Jim Hunton

I'm a lifelong music lover.  I started out listening to my older sister's Beatles records and bought my first record (Endless Summer) when I was 12.  A year later Kiss's Love Gun was my second purchase and I still have both records.  As a teen I rebelled against what we call "classic rock" and leaned into Alternative music.  Give me Peter Gabriel, X or Split Enz over The Eagles and Journey.  Later, a friend forced me to listen to Bruce Springsteen's Born to Run and I rediscovered "classic rock".  Music has the ability to change my mood and to wash away the ugly parts of life.  I prefer systems that lean towards a warm sound, more musical than analytical is my preference.  I'm not trying to recreate the "real thing" in my living room.  I'm trying to have an emotional reaction to a work of art.  I enjoy tinkering with electronics and have blown up many perfectly good pieces of equipment while trying to "improve" them.  I'm also an amateur speaker builder with many unfinished projects to prove it.  I listen to both analog and digital sources and fully embrace new technology that tries to move us closer to the music.
