Equipment Lending Library
The San Francisco Audiophile Foundation Lending library
For the use of our members in good standing, the San Francisco Audiophile Foundation (SFAF) has established a lending library of set up and analysis tools. These tools are lent on a one-week basis, unless a longer term is agreed upon and there is no significant waiting list. Tools can be picked up in Emeryville from Gregory Morgan in the bay area or Larry Deniston in Ashland, OR, depending on what the item is. Members will be allowed to check out tools for one week and will be expected to return the tools in the same condition as that in which the tools were lent out. To this end, the user will be expected to sign an Equipment Lending Agreement verifying their understanding of this requirement.
In order to arrange the checkout of one or more of these tools, please send an email to Gregory Morgan (samlowerydz_015@yahoo.com) with a copy to Larry Deniston (larry@audiophilefoundation.org) with “SFAF EQUIPMENT LENDING LIBRARY REQUEST – (item requested)” in the subject line.
These tools will be lent as individual items, unless there is a need to have multiple items at the same time (i.e. multiple tools are needed to set up a phono cartridge and they will be lent at the same time). The tools currently available to borrow are:
- WallyTractor Universal Cartridge Alignment Gauge – SFAF
- WallySkater Anti-skating set-up device – SFAF
- Fozgometer Azimuth Range Meter – SFAF
- RFI/EMI Noise meter – Larry – Ashland, OR
- USB digital Microscope – Larry – Ashland, OR
- Microphone for Room Frequency Response – Larry – Ashland, OR
- Tube tester: Hickock 533A – Larry – Ashland, OR
These rules are subject to change and a late fee may be instituted in the event that the returns become problematic.
Please let us know if there is a particular tool you feel would be useful for SFAF to purchase for the membership.
