Introductions

Hello!
Author Last Post

Welcome Kent, Thanks for joining! We look forward to collaborations with the California Historical Radio Society.

There are DIYers in the club, some participate on the Friday happy hour calls and some participate in our educational events. Plus we can certainly set up some events going forward and encourage any suggestions and ideas for events.

Best, Larry

Hello and Welcome, Kent,

It is a bit odd that the DIY community has not posted much here, including myself, as I know many people besides myself are very much into DIY- we've even had some DIY events in the S. Bay.

Speaking for myself and the Audiophile Foundation as a whole, welcome!

Best,

David

Hi Folks,

Finally decided to join the SFAF. I've been restoring older tube audio gear for 20+ years, even rolled my own a few times.

Freelance technical illustrator for 30 years. I was the tube service tech at Berkeley Stereo, RIP. I now do freelance restorations.

I’ve been a member of the California Historical Radio Society for 30 years and help with instruction and repair at our museum in Alameda, CA. https://californiahistoricalradio.com/

I've had various bits of gear in my tiny studio to listen to my record collection. Presently a VPI HW-19, homebrew Jfet phono stage, a Mac 2505 or Marantz 8B into a pair of NS1000M's. A pretty simple little system.

Surprised no-one has posted in the DIY forum. That's one of the key things I like about vintage & tube audio; it's fixability and DIY-ability.

Nice to meet you all! -Kent
