Well, I am very satisfied at the moment. This all happened in the past 3 years.
Bought a Niagara 3000 for clean power. Upgraded my preamp to the excellent Pass XP-32.
Home auditioned a Mola Mola Tambaqui DAC/ streamer. Had to buy it. I use an Etheregen switch before the Tambaqui. A Small Green Computer server runs Roon with Qobuz and Tidal for sreaming source.
Bought a Dr. Feickert Venti 3 DC motor turntable with a Jelco 850 12 inch tonearm. I have 3 main cartridges.
A Dynavector Te Kaitora Rua, Ortofon Cadenza Black and a Soundsmith Sussuro mkii. Don’t make me choose as I love them all.
They feed a Luminous Audio Technology Arion phono preamp that has been modified extensively by its designer.
I use a variety of cables.
The last upgrade was loudspeakers and amps. I listened to a pair of Linkwitz Orions for years. Don Naples supplied the beautiful cabinet panels and active crossover then I assembled and finished the speakers. Outstanding sound.
Don and I have similar sonic tastes. Don called me and invited me to listen to the latest version of the Linkwitz LX521 reference speakers. These have an analog cascaded active crossover and new magnesium lower midrange. Wow.
The sound is stunning. Along with the crossover are custom Ncore amps. 5 for each channel. I love the music this makes for me. I won’t say cheaper than therapy, but certainly more fun.
